a hammer, some yogurt and four yummy parfaits

When I asked Oliver to grab a kitchen mallet and smash up a bag of graham crackers, he was pretty sure I had lost my marbles. Yet of course quickly set to work, lest I should find said marbles anytime soon.

Hammering food = one happy little boy.

Step 2 was to layer the graham crumbs in some pretty fancy glasses, along with organic vanilla yogurt, fresh diced peaches and sweet, sweet blueberries. 20130608-210005.jpg

Some smashed graham crumbs to top it off and voila — a pretty healthy “dessert” that O couldn’t have been prouder of!20130608-210020.jpgI didn’t even hear a follow-up request for ice cream, s’mores or Annie’s cheddar bunny snack mix. The hammering gave this dessert serious street cred.
