When I asked Oliver to grab a kitchen mallet and smash up a bag of graham crackers, he was pretty sure I had lost my marbles. Yet of course quickly set to work, lest I should find said marbles anytime soon.
Hammering food = one happy little boy.
Step 2 was to layer the graham crumbs in some pretty fancy glasses, along with organic vanilla yogurt, fresh diced peaches and sweet, sweet blueberries.
Some smashed graham crumbs to top it off and voila — a pretty healthy “dessert” that O couldn’t have been prouder of!I didn’t even hear a follow-up request for ice cream, s’mores or Annie’s cheddar bunny snack mix. The hammering gave this dessert serious street cred.
